At the Food Equity Forum hosted by the Prince George’s County Food Equity Council. “Building Resilience and Innovation Through Food” it was interesting. I arrived late (work) but the main focus was learning about innovation in the food production system in Prince George’s County. We had a breakout visioning session, and I worked with Kim Knox of the Port Towns Community Health Partnership and a few other folks. Our discussion was about equity in supermarkets and small markets and the need for competition/alternative distribution models. I have major concerns with the quality of produce at my local supermarket. It was a great way for me to synthesize some of my thoughts and identify next steps.
