Tomorrow, January 18, marks the 25th Anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, which was designated a National Day of Service in 2009. Join the Ignite Greensboro Project! on Monday from 1:00pm – 4:00pm as they host a day of service. The will be working with the Let’s Raise a Million! They will be going into the Warnersville Community (in Greensboro) and retrofitting the light bulbs in homes free of charge to residents. Intake starts at 1:00pm in the Warnersville Community Center, 601 Doak St, Greensboro, NC 27406
Last year, 200 students and community members installed 1,020 lighbulbs in close to 90 homes, saving residents of the East White Oak community over $60,000 in energy costs, remove 63 cars from the road for a year and prevent over 723,000 pounds of greenhouse gases.
Its fine if you can’t make it to Warnersville to participate in the day of service, but check here to see where your help is needed in your community.
