It finally feels like spring outside and it is the perfect time to start planting seeds for change in our communities. For the past four years, I’ve kicked-off my spring at the Cottage City Community Garden, working with the Port Towns Youth Council, a talented and vibrant group of 10-18 year olds who are about transforming their communities garden plot by garden plot.
Earlier this year, I sat down with Corriece Gwynn of Homes of Color Magazines to talk about my work with the Port Towns Youth Council in the Cottage City Community Garden, my love for history, and my family’s role in agriculture in Prince George’s County. I hope it inspires you to hit the dirt and start planting for the season.
