Abstract Deadline: January 28th, 2011

The Dialogue on Progressive Enlightenment (DOPE) Conference represents an effort to foster meaningful discussion on community enlightenment between individuals. It simultaneously acknowledges 1) the fundamental responsibility of the individual to seek out, embrace, and manifest the truth and 2) the burdensome obstacles that educational institutions often present for Afrikan people. Thus, the DOPE mission is to use natural human intellectual capital to redefine and refocus the power of educational enlightenment for adaptive, healthful, vibrant living.
DOPE 2011 will feature cultural performances and scholarly presentations that explore links between the sciences and the arts for Afrikan people throughout the Diaspora. Individuals are invited to submit proposals for:
Moderated panel discussions
Paper presentations (50 min format)
Poster presentations
Roundtable discussions
Community engagement projects
Film/ Documentary screening
Please email your abstract (500 words or less) as an attachment to dopeconference@gmail.com by 5pm EST. on January 28th, 2011. For more information, please visit: www.briancareysims.com/DOPE
