Dirty Fingernails is an extra cool exhibit at the Center for Visual Arts. For the past 5 summers, right before school starts, the gallery unveils this show featuring art by 3 -15 year olds (see more here)
Each year the exhibit is spectacular. I love it because you can see the talent and creativity of children. I kept trying to catch sneak peaks of the show before it officially opened, and I was relatively unsuccessful. When I did I was amazed at the work the children of Greensboro had produced. Animation, graffiti, mask, screenprints, mobiles, paintings! Just fun and dirty! This year Dirty Fingernails showcases over 600 works of art by over 300 children who attend CVA’s summer camp.
Dirty Fingernails raises money for the CVA Summer Scholarship Fund to provide monetary support for all children to have the opportunity to attend camp. Show your support and checkout DIRTY FINGERNAILS. But make it snappy the exhibit closes on August 27.To learn more about the Center for Visual Artists, visit www.greensboroart.org.
